High Protein Choco Cherry Smoothie

Cherry smoothie tastes just as delicious as it sounds! But ever thought of combining your favorite cherry smoothie with some dark chocolate?

Dark chocolates are unique. They are not only good in taste but also contain a number of nutrients, namely –iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, potassium, zinc, and selenium- all of which are having several functions in our body. This high protein choco cherry smoothie is an ideal pick for a post-workout snack and also can be taken as a meal when you are in a hurry and do not have the time of taking a full course meal. This drink is not only high in protein but also supplies enough complex carbs, energy, micro-nutrients, and fiber.

If you do not get Greek yogurt, hung curd can be used in place of that. To make hung curd, put normal curd in a muslin cloth and let it sit overnight in the fridge. By the morning all extra water would be drained out and the creamy curd would have remained which can be used in making the smoothie.

Instead of hemp seeds, you can use any seed of your choice. This will add crunchiness to your smoothie. Also for topping you can use some roasted nuts of your preference instead of cherry or chocolate curls.

The smoothie contains a good amount of protein. If you want to make it more protein-packed, you can use one scoop of vanilla or chocolate-flavored protein powder.

Let’s have a look at the recipe –

Preparation Time – 10 minutes

Equipment Used – Blender, Serving glass

Serves – 2

Ingredients

  • 2 cups seedless frozen cherries
  • 1 cup greek yogurt
  • ½ Cup skimmed milk
  • ½ cup ice
  • 3 Tbsp hemp seeds
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 Tbsp Seedless dates
  • 2 Tbsp Roasted slivered almonds
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Method:

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. If you want the smoothie to be a little sweeter, then 1 or 2 more dates can be added.
  3. Place the smoothie in serving glass, top it with roasted almond. Serve and enjoy!
